The RMS Queen Elizabeth pulling into New York with service men returning home after the end of World War 2, 1945.⁣ ⁣ She was able to carry 15,000 people at a time, including 900 crew members.The trip from The British isles to the east coast of the United States usually took 5 to 7 days. During her service in World War 2, the RMS Queen Elizabeth transported more than 750,000 troops, and sailed a total of 500,000 miles (800,000 km).⁣ ⁣ Source: New York Historical Society

Larry Brown rocks an interesting fit coaching Ralph Simpson in 1975. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Brown was a bit of a basketball nomad, having coached in 14 different locations across a 46-year span. With how high coach turnover has been historically, it’s normally not a good thing for your legacy to bounce around so often. But Larry Brown is not exactly a normal coach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Brown amassed a 1,594-1,130 record coaching in college (UCLA, Kansas, SMU), the ABA (Carolina Cougars and Denver Nuggets), the NBA (New Jersey Nets, San Antonio Spurs, LA Clippers, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Charlotte Bobcats), and the LBA in Italy (Auxilium Torino). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As it stands today, Brown is the only person to ever win Coach of Year in the NCAA, ABA, and NBA. He’s also the only coach to ever win a National Championship (Kansas, ‘88) and an NBA Championship (Detroit, ‘04). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While his resume is littered with abrupt resignations and recruiting violations, history should remember Larry Brown as one of the game’s all-time great coaches.
